Los Angeles 2

must have: an immediate visual on the fierce and frightened squawking coming from the trees outside

puce flash and a blustered rounded head… the neighborhood crows were battling renegade parrots in a turf war:  90 minutes from tree to tree to tree

it is not uncommon to see trees full of tropical birds in Los Angeles

they get let go and find each other in the eucalyptus trees…pet stores go out of business maybe

can you imagine how absurd it would be to be a parrot and then have to fight a crow? and they just go on living

crows lightly gallop along the ground and when they fly they swoop...their neck feathers are glossy and glamorous

a group of crows are called a murder surely because they sound like they are murdered

Delicious curtains made even better by the light.

idea: try and visit coastal baby goats sometime. They have the right idea.

Idea: recall our desert childhood and put an element of it on the ceiling. Or, why didn't I think of this?

As a kid I roamed around with the others and made tumbleweed forts in an empty lot at the end of my block. It was the 1970's so one wasn't expected to be home until dinnertime. One mother just drove around in her forest green nova screeching, "APRIL!! APE-RILLL!"until her daughter turned up. Tumbleweeds make excellent building material because they naturally stick together without much overlapping. It is in my mind exactly what it was like to crawl into a tumbleweed igloo with a bunch of goofy tanned rabbit-toothed 8-year-olds.
